Oops, I almost finished this project and then took a look thinking I could mark something off my "To Do List" only to find that it wasn't on there. (laughing) Ah well, listed or not, I needed to get it done. I made my first military vest before 1995 and I've been wearing it ever since and it was REALLY starting to see some wear and tear. Not to mention that it had been left long enough in the back window of a car at one point for it to fade out on the back and give it a tie-dye look. Argh. Now that I have a better grasp for sewing and I have all this wonderful material to use I went to work to make myself a new green vest for use with my Berdan's Sharpshooters impression.
I had worked on it last week in the hopes of having it done before we headed out to the event but unfortunately I ran out of time and realized that I didn't have the buttons unless I stripped them off the blue vest (which will be put with my 66th IL Impression). So I wore that blue vest one more event and worked on finishing the green one today.
I'm happy to say that it is complete and it's looking pretty good (if I do say so myself). The best part is that this one was increased one size so it should fit rather than be stretched to fit.
Tomorrow I'll go back to the project that I'm doing for a friend - Venetian Pants slightly modified.
