So for stepping down I thought it proper that I have a new dress and so I pulled out the Rennaissance pattern which got me my yellow and got to work. I decided that the corset was uncomfortable and I that I was going to bone the bodice so that I could just have the dress to deal with - 1 less layer - and hope that it was more comfortable to wear for all day.

Typical for me I hemmed and hawed about the best way to go about something (I can't even remember what) and ran out of time before finishing the dress. The yellow was tried and true and my garb until we were no longer Viceregals. With the dress not having been done for the stepping down and then the move . . I shipped it ahead so I could finish it in time for our first Caid event . .

Which turned out to be a fencing event so I wore my green doublet and didn't bother with finishing the dress. Now we are headed back to England for the first Coronet tournament in ID and my thoughts bend once again to finishing that dress . .but instead typical of me I'm actually thinking of starting a new dress and/or fixing the sleeves to the green (which would still need the corset). Sigh . . I need to admit to myself that finishing the lacing holes, shoulder seams and hem on this dress would be FAR easier than starting from scratch or taking something apart to redo it. Although I really want a new Chemise . . as forewarned by Ursula, it doesn't have enough fullness to the sleeves to do what it should and the neckline is too high anyway. Sigh . .better figure out what I'm doing and soon since I need to ship the box with our stuff in it next week.
