Leggings complications

Well, I got the pattern fitted and all cut out in the beautiful wool and sat down at my machine .. only to find it skipping stitches .. like all of them. Sigh. I've taken the machine apart, blown out all the lint, checked to make sure that everything is working smoothly and I can see no reason why it is skipping stitches. Now that makes 2 machines that are currently not working. But there was 2 days to the event and I was determined to give these new leggings a try so I set to work on sewing them by hand.

My hand sewing is not nearly so fast and I kept getting distracted so needless to say the leggings did not get done for the event. Monday I called the local sewing machine repair guy (who makes house calls, how cool is that) and he can't fit me in until next week so I'm in a holding pattern until then as of course there is housework and laundry to do before sewing. Hopefully he'll be able to fix the one if not both machines and I can get back to sewing bliss .. or just sewing productively.
