Raglan Feast

Well, I did it . . I volunteered to be Feast-o-Crat at the upcoming Raglan Faire. I've managed to create a menu that I think I can handle as most things will need to be prepared off-site and ahead of time since there are no cooking facilities on site to speak of.

1st Remove
Vegetable soup
Fresh fruit
Bread
White Mice

2nd Remove
Orange Chicken
Apple Moye
Sweet Cheese Flan

3rd remove
Beef Steaks
Mushroom Pasties
Cherry Pottage

For light snacks after feast and during ball
Shrewsbury Cakes

Of the above menu we've not personally tried the Cheese Flan, Cherry Pottage or the Mushroom Pasties. So off to work I go to make some of these dishes and see how they do.

Today I've made the Mushroom Pasties and the Cherry Pottage. The mushroom dish was delicious and I've tucked some away in the fridge to see what the group thinks of it. Dafydd even enjoyed it so I would say that one is a winner. The Cherry pottage on the other hand tasted too strongly of wine for my preference. Dafydd has yet to try that one and there is a large bowl of that which is also awaiting shire taste-testing.
